Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission.  They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations.  The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:

This job provides the opportunity to support the mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot; which is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. The Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army’s Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance and is the world’s largest helicopters overhaul and repair facility. CCAD serves as the depot training base for active duty Army, National Guard, Reserve and foreign military personnel. We also provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support. Positions include those providing support to the maintenance of helicopters in a variety of shops or in an office setting.

You will provide facility planning support to/for buildings, structures, architectural and environmental components, and equipment/tools/vehicles which support the Depot. Interface with Aviation and Missile Command, Depot Commander, CCAD Directorates, private sector contractors/vendors, and other activities or agencies regarding policies, services, design, safety and environmental compliance, and approaches toward project(s) completion. Review internal job orders to determine validity of requests/ requirements and best contract to accomplish tasks.  Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for second line management. research alternative funding sources for infrastructure repairs and damages. Provide onsite monitoring of maintenance contracts to ensure contract work is acceptable, on schedule, and conforms to contract specifications, code requirements, abatement, and safety plans. Serve as liaison between contractor and technical program personnel.

Specialized experience: To Qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level GS-11. Specialized experience is defined (1) Experience with management and organizational concepts, principles, and practices related to facility Sustainment Restoration Modernization (SRM) (i.e. environmental compliance, construction safety principles, planning and budget planning, programming and execution). (2) Experience with facilities SRM, acquisition policies, and guidelines (3) Experience with construction planning, programming and/or project management to include scheduling, job progress charts, and reports.


You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:

·         Knowledge of a wide range of management and organizational concepts, principles and practices as they relate to Facility Maintenance Management.

·         Ability to plan, administer, and monitor contracts as they relate to the Army Acquisition programs.

·         Skill in inspecting, reviewing, and performing audits for ongoing construction projects and existing facilities-related construction/repair projects.
