To qualify for the GS-06, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
reviewing, screening, and controlling all incoming correspondence and action documents and forwarding to staff for action
arranging and attending, when requested, large meetings or conferences
typing correspondence, reports, and records in final form
making travel arrangements
performing time and attendance duties
performing receptionist duties
working with automated systems
