SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience managing an operations center during activations for natural or man-made disasters, managing and assigning resources, receiving reports, maintaining situational awareness and providing summary reports of critical information to senior officials.
- Experience developing, revising, approving, and issuing policy governing emergency management program and functions.
- Experience serving as a primary advisor and expert in the development of contingency plans and policies; working cooperatively with partners from inside the Dept of Defense and from the civilian Emergency Management community
- Experience conducting detailed analysis of contingency requirements, formulating feasibility and sustainability assessments, identifying related programs, recommending solutions, and directing complex studies and approaches for contingency and all-hazards planning.
