This position is located at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City, Florida. As an Engineer, you will perform and advise on professional, scientific, or technical work concerned with engineering systems, materials, or methods.

This position has promotion potential to the ND-04 grade level. If selected below the full performance level, incumbent may be non competitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.

This established Public Notice under the Distinguished Scholastic Achievement Appointment Authority (DSAA). Seeking college/university graduates with bachelor's degrees or higher. Applications can be accepted from students who expect to complete qualifying education within 9 months from the date of application.

This notice is issued under the Distinguished Scholastic Achievement Appointment (DSAA) Authority for Science & Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) to recruit and appoint individuals with undergraduate or graduate degrees through the doctoral level possessing distinguished scholastic achievements. As such, this notice is targeted to qualified United States citizens who are not current permanent Federal employees. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Developing and reviewing specifications for the design or modification of weapons systems or applications.
  • Determining and applying basic mathematical or statistical formulas or methods.
  • Preparing and designing layouts.

In order to qualify for this position, you must have successfully completed (or will complete within 9 months) a baccalaureate degree or higher in the specific or related Engineering field which you are applying:

Computer Engineer: Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Electrical Engineer: Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering.

Mechanical Engineer: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.

This position has a Selective Placement Factor (screen-out) which will also be used to determine minimum qualifications for this position. Applicants not possessing the Selective Placement Factor will be found ineligible for this position. The Selective Placement Factor is:Must possess a 3.5 culmulative GPA or higher in the education indicated above.

Note: Grade point averages will be rounded to one decimal place. For example, 3.45 will round to 3.5 and 3.44 will round to 3.4.
