This position is located in the Office of the Director (OD), Office of Human Resources (OHR), Human Resources Systems Analytics and Information Division (HR SAID), HR Systems Support and Information Management Branch (SSIMB).

As a Human Resources Specialist (Info Systems) with HR SAID, your work may include:  


  • Providing technical support on a wide variety of human resources (HR) information systems and programs.
  • Applying knowledge of HR operations, regulations and procedures and knowledge of information systems to automate HR processes and to manage systems operations.
  • Providing guidance to HR staff and management throughout the agency in the operation of HR information systems to assist them in achieving their organizational objectives.
  • Assisting with the the training of HR staff and providing system demonstrations on automated HR Information Systems.

At the GS-9 level: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level in the Federal service; OR have completed a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B or J.D., if related; OR have a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.   Examples of qualifying experience include: assisting senior staff with developing and implementing new systems; assisting with managing corporate websites; assisting in preparing funding requests to support development and maintenance of Enterprise IT systems supporting HR business processes; assisting in conducting regular audits or reviews of user accounts for HR Information Systems; responding to customer inquiries regarding systems issues.  


At the GS-11 level: You demonstrate in you resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to the GS-9 in the Federal service; OR have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M., if related; OR have a combination of graduate level education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.  Examples of qualifying experience includes:  serving as first-level contact for HR Information System software and application problems and responding to customer inquiries; analyzing initiatives for an HRIS Help Desk; advising managers regarding HR systems operations and a variety of personnel applications and programs; assisting in developing and implementing new HR information systems, ensuring that they encompass HR operations, regulations, policies and procedures; providing support to HR Specialists in the operation, maintenance and capabilities of HR information systems.
