This position is in the Health Resources and Services Administration, Office of Information Technology under the direction of the Chief Information Security Officer.

In this position you will:

·         Plan, coordinate and control Information System Security and Privacy for a division;

·         Implement security measures for all computers, electronic storage devices, and communication systems;

·         Assist in the planning and designing of studies or projects;

·         Coordinate and integrate security and privacy related activities within a division;

·         Monitor activities to include vulnerability and penetration testing;

·         Review proposed systems, networks and software design for potential security risks;

·         Identify and recommend policy changes needed to ensure network security; and

·         Develop technical reports and informational documents regarding IT security.

To qualify for this position you meet the following criteria:

 

Basic Requirement:

 

Have IT related experience that demonstrates possession of each of the following four competencies: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Experience that includes: conducting analyses and recommending resolution of issues affecting complex assignments; providing advice and guidance on a wide range of IT issues; and testing and optimizing the functionality of systems, networks, and data.

 

In addition to meeting the above Basic Requirement, you must also possess the following specialized experience:

 

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: planning, coordinating and controlling Information System Security and Privacy for a division; implementing security measures for all computers, electronic storage devices, and communication systems; assisting in the planning and designing of studies or projects; coordinating and integrating security and privacy related activities within a division; monitoring activities to include vulnerability and penetration testing; providing guidance on mitigation efforts; reviewing proposed systems, networks and software design for potential security risks; identifying and recommending policy changes needed to ensure network security; and developing technical reports and informational documents regarding IT security.


Education may not be used to qualify for this position. Therefore, submission of a transcript is not requested nor required.
