U.S. Public Health Command's Mission: Promote health and prevent disease, injury, and disability of soldiers and military retirees, their families, and Department of Army civilian employees; and assure effective execution of full spectrum veterinary service for Army and Department of Defense Veterinary missions.
Assists the Human Resources Officeer in implementing official NAF policies, regulations and directives. Provides the full range of personnel services for managers and employees. Performs extensive technical and specialized work in the areas of staffing, pay administration and classification, training, labor-management relations, management-employee relations, awards, benefits, and regulatory compliance. Provides guidance, advice and assistance to managers, employees, and candidates for employment on a full range of services such as personnel policies, administrative regulations, employee rights and services. Oversees the work of assistants and provides technical guidance. Ensures the proper maintenance of the automated database and office files and records.
Ft.Sam Houston NAF centrally services approximately 700 (soon to be around 1000) employees worldwide stationed across 157 Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps installations in the United States, Asia, the Caribbean and Pacific Islands, Europe, and the Middle East. Work is performed almost entrirely virtual via phone and email with only a few on-site facilities on Fort Sam Houston, Lackland and Randolph Air Force Bases in San Antonio. The primary customers are Public Health Command-Veterinary Services and US Army Fisher House and not the traditional FMWR or CYS customers a normal NAF HR Office staffs. The misstion of Ft. Sam Houston is unique and therefore, we're looking for seasoned NAF HR professionals who are looking for the challange of administering a NAF HR Program in a non-traditional NAF HR Office.
