· Degree: Must fulfill all of the requirements for the Masters degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
In addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications above, applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for this position
· Specialized Experience: One year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade/level (GS-09) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience which includes providing assessment and treatment for in-patient and out-patient non-substance addictions, maintaining an individual caseload, and performing individual, group, marital, and family assessment and/or counseling.
· Education Substitution: Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited college or university that is directly related to the work of the position.
· Combination of Education and Experience: If you have some but not all of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you do have. To do so, compute the percentage of your requirements met, the sum of which must equal at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 54. Add the two percentages).
· All applicants MUST be licensed as an independent clinical social worker by the recognizing licensing agency of a State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
