Serves as a Transportation Assistant in the Finance Directorate Travel Office.  Performs all travel functions involving preparation of travel authorizations, preparing transportation requests, schedules, and reservations for civilian and military personnel traveling on TDY/TAD or PCS orders.

  • Serves as a Transportation Assistant responsible for providing travel related support to travelers across the command  
  • Researches the Federal Travel Regulations to help resolve employee issues and complex problems associated with travel.
  • Reconciles expenditures to financial reports to ensure proper accounting and appropriations are charged.
  • Responsible for the coordination and management of DTS for all required actions to support successful mission requried travel.
  • Ensures TDY travel vouchers for payment adheres to DoD regulations and policies.
  • Interfaces on a daily basis with personnel at all levels concerning a multitude of travel related inquiries and determines the need for additional information in order to resolve the issue.
  • Serves as a liaison between command travelers and the Commerical Travel Office (CT0).

Specialized experience is defined as work which involves performing duties associated with ensuring traveler's TDY requests adhere to DoD, DoN, and command regulations and policies.  Must be able to assist and advise travelers on the resolution of travel problems and provide full range of customer service support.

REQUIREMENTS:

Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade.  All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.
