SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience administering Distinguished Visitor (DV) programs to enhance the understanding of local, regional, national, and international groups/organizations.
- Experience gathering information on foreign customs and regulations dealing with domestic and foreign diplomatic formality.
- Experience coordinating official social events for distinguished foreign visitors and high level government officials.
- Experience developing information materials such as fact sheets, brochures, detailed itineraries to increase communications with visiting dignitaries.

SUBSTITUTION FOR EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE (GS-11): Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related to the position.
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of higher level graduate education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
