In order to be eligible for the Recent Graduates Program, the following qualifications must be met:
Be a U.S. citizen;
Possess a qualifying associates, bachelor's, master's professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution, within the previous 2 years;
Applicants for the GS-07 grade level must possess one year of experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level.
GS-07: Applicants must have a Bachelors degree and a least ONE of the qualification requirements described below.
EDUCATION (Undergraduate and/or Graduate): SUPERIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT PROVISIONS: A bachelor's degree in any field, plus at least one of the following superior academic achievement provisions:
Grade-point average (GPA) of B (3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale) for all completed undergraduate courses, or courses completed in the last two years of undergraduate curriculum; or,
Grade-point average (GPA) of B+ (3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale) for the required courses in your major field of study, or required courses in your major completed in the last two years of undergraduate study; or,
Rank in the upper one-third of your class in the college, university, or major subdivision at the time of application; or,
Elected to membership in a national scholastic honor society, other than freshman honor societies. Honor societies that have been approved are listed in the Association of College Honor Societies: Booklet of Information (1992-95) and/or Baird's Manual of America College Fraternities (1991).
To verify your claim for this position, please submit a college transcript(s) showing that you maintained a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 for all 4 years of undergraduate courses, or, on all undergraduate courses completed during the final 2 years of your curriculum, including all transferred courses. GRADUATE EDUCATION: One full year of graduate level study, or a master's or higher degree, e.g., LL.B.,J.D., if related, you may qualify for a GS-7.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience is defined as applying basic chemical incident investigation theories, principles, techniques, and standards to perform basic chemical incident investigation assignments.
Combination of education and experience which together qualifies for the GS-07.
Applicants for the GS-09 grade level must possess one year of experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level.
GS-09: Applicant must have a masters degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited college or university.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to Federal service at the GS-07 level. Specialized experience is defined as skill in fact-finding research and analysis of programs; ability to analyze and evaluate of operations, processes, and programs; oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare reports and presentations.
A combination of education and/or experience may substitute for the specialized experience requirement.
Only education from institutions which are accredited or preaccredited/candidate for accreditation may be used to meet education requirements.
Recent Graduates Program
Possess a qualifying associate's, bachelor's, master's, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution, within the previous 2 years;
Submit a copy of your official transcript.

Selection will be made from the highest available preference group, as long as at least three candidates remain in that group. When fewer than three candidates remain in the highest group, consideration may be expanded to include the next category.
