Qualification Requirement Using Specialized Experience or Education: In order to be rated as qualified using specialized experience, we must be able to determine that you meet the definitions below; please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level of the position to be filled.
PLEASE NOTE: Realtor (real estate) work experience in the private sector is not considered qualified unless the experience demonstrates specific relationship to public land issues.
To qualify for GS-09, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) in the Federal service. This experience includes assisting in field exams casework process & prepration of environmental analysis & documents for various land cases, i.e., public sales, ROW, land exchange, acquisitions, ag. entries, land classification, withdrawals, leases, permits, recreation & public purpose leases/patents & airport leases/patents, State select, trespasses. Serve trainee realty spec, realty technician, land law examiner, or legal clerk on lands actions or other public lands use authorizations. Experience provided experience with field exams, NEPA process, requisitions & compliance; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B or J.D., if related.
To qualify for GS-11 you must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) in the Federal service. This experience includes experience processing various types of land cases, i.e., such as, public sales, right-of-way, temporary use permits, exchanges, public sales, recreation and public purpose leases/patents, airport leases/patents, land classifications, withdrawals, leases, permits, State selections, and trespasses as well as field examinations, and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) processes and requirements and compliance; OR Completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., in a directly related field.
Education and experience may be combined to meet the specialized experience requirement.You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
This position falls under the Group Qualification Standards for Administrative and Management Positions located on the OPM.gov website. Position Requirement: Applicants selected who have less than 3 years of experience as a Realty Specialist (GS-1170) will be required to attend a 3-part Lands and Realty Academy at BLM's National Training Center in Phoenix, AZ. The selected applicant must successfully complete and pass the Academy. Failure to complete and/or pass this Academy may result in your termination.
HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
