Graduate of a degree program in pharmacy from an approved college or university approved by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE). Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications (particularly positions with a positive education requirement.) Therefore, applicants must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Graduates of foreign pharmacy degree programs meet the educational requirement if the graduate is able to provide proof of achieving the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Commission (FPGEC) Certification, which includes passing the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) and the Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT). If applicable, applicants must submit with their applications a copy of their FPGEC certifcation in order to be considered for this position.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Requirements: Applicants must have full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a state, territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
In addition to the basic requirements, at least 1 year of active professional experience comparable to the next lower grade level that demonstrates the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities of a Pharmacist described at that level. This experience must have been equivalent to the GS-11 levels in the Federal Service. Experience is only creditable if it is post-licensure experience as a professional pharmacist directly related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, the experience must have required the use of knowledges, skills, abilities and other characteristics associated with current professional pharmacy practice. The experience or education must have been gained within 3 years prior to the date of appointment.
