JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission.  They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations.  The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:

Fort Gordon is in Augusta, Georgia, home of the Masters Golf Tournament and the Signal Center. It is approximately 142 miles east of Atlanta, 80 miles southwest of Columbia, South Carolina and 122 miles northwest of Savannah, Georgia. Ft Gordon's location offers close proximity to a metropolitan area and is an easy drive from Atlanta, Savannah the beaches along the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains.

Major Duties:

Exercises tact and diplomacy in greeting diners and verifying the category of customer. Operates an electronic cash register which collects and sorts a number of difference statistical date. Verifies the correctness of the information placed into the register for authorized diners.

Verifies and/or reconciles aggregate cash drawer before and after each meal service with the cash control supervisor. Cashier must operate the register with accuracy and speed in totaling item purchased and giving correct change during meal services.

•  Best qualified candidates must be able to display the following: : (1) Basic arithmetic in order to conduct cash transactions and complete forms. (2) Basic clerical procedures used in transferring, posting and totaling data to required documents. (3)Skill in operating an electronic cash register and calculator. (4) Must be knowledgeable of the general rules and procedures governing cash accountability.



Three months of general experience, or a high school graduate or equivalent, or a combination of experience and education.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
