Serve as the events coordinator and liaison to Program Offices within the Agency and outside the Agency in relation to the Conference and Meeting Planning (CMP) activities under the Agency's Working Capital Fund (WCF).
Interpret all applicable regulations and policies to fulfill the operational needs to enhance the CMP service's effectiveness and organizational productivity.
Assist in identifying budget and staffing needs, evaluate trends, and project future potential funding requirements of CMP activity.
Plan, coordinate, and participate in planning sessions for OFS/BPDS and other programs.
You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts.

In addition to the experience and/or education described in this announcement, you must also have the following to be qualified for this position: Must have a Certified Meeting Professional certification from the Convention Industry Council.
We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full time experience defined as providing Conference and Meeting Planning (CMP) services to include meeting planning, conference space selection, on-site meeting support, development of meeting materials, and event budget planning.
Your answers to the on-line assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Knowledge of conference planning processes; 2) Skill on communicating with clients; 3) Skill in monitoring budgetary spending to keep within organizational policies; 4) Ability to conduct program evaluations for recommendations on priorities for an organization; 5) Ability to perform studies of processes to propose improvements; 6) Skill in performing special analytical studies; 7) Skill in developing effective relationships.
If you are selected, you must complete a one year probationary period.
This position is designated as Low Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation.
