The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) develops and produces United States currency notes, trusted worldwide. As a primary function, the BEP prints billions of dollars each year for delivery to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System operates as the nation's central bank and serves to ensure that adequate amounts of currency and coin are in circulation. With production facilities in Washington, D.C. and Fort Worth, Texas, the BEP is the largest producer of federal government security documents in the United States.
This position is located in the Central Bank Counterfeit Deterrence Group, Office of Product Development Directorate, Bureau of Engraving and Printing. The incumbent is responsible for managing various highly confidential projects in the Central Bank Counterfeit Deterrence Group (CBCDG) and the Central Bank Currency Manufacturers Group (CBCMG), Office of Central Bank Liaison Staff (CBLS). The CBCDG is a group of Central Banks and bank note printing authorities organized to investigate the common emerging threats to the security of bank notes and to propose solutions for implementation by issuing authorities. The CBCMG is a group of Central Banks working with Banknote Equipment Manufacturers (BEMs) to ensure currencies work the equipment to correctly recognize a genuine banknote.
