JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission.  They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations.  The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:

This position is located at the 200th Military Police Command, 160th Military Police Battalion, 290th Military Police Brigade, Tallahassee, Florida.

 

Tallahassee is known for its national forests, fresh water lakes, and beaches. Apalachicola National Forest has more than 500,000 acres of forest, rivers and springs. Lake Jackson has great bass fishing. St. George Island State Park is located on the Gulf of Mexico with beautiful pristine beaches. The local arts in Tallahassee and Leon County can be found on the Cultural Resources Commission website.

 

Description of working environment:  Normal office setting.

 

This position reports to the Supervisory Staff Administrator.

GS-07:

Specialized experience: To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GS-05) in the Federal service or equivalent pay band. Specialized experience is defined as: performing clerical or administrative tasks such as preparing correspondence, filing and data entry; processing a variety of personnel or pay actions; and interpreting and/or applying regulatory or procedural requirements.

 

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities)in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of Organizational Objectives.
  • Knowledge of Military Programs.
  • Skill in Customer Service.
  • Ability to Research.

Obligated Position: This position is obligated. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights based on active military service, compensable injury or disability when fully recovered, or return rights based on having served an overseas tour(s).  In accordance with 5 CFR 353 or AR 690-300, Chapter 352, the previous incumbent has reemployment rights to this position.  Occupancy of this position is limited to the return of former incumbent with statutory reemployment rights under 10 USC 1586.  I understand this means I may be displaced by reassignment or reduction in force procedures at a later time should the previous incumbent exercise his/her reemployment rights.
