The Department of Defense Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) is currently accepting applications under examining authority of 10 U.S.C., Section 2164, for position(s) at the Area Service Center in Peachtree City, Georgia.
This position is in the excepted service.

Explains processes and procedures to be followed in proposing and submitting a wide variety of Request for Personnel Actions (RPAs) and other requests for service by the DDESS Human Resources Office. Personally initiates requests when warranted by circumstances. Provides first level of technical service related to such request, such as drafting job announcements and crediting plans for AD/GS/WG/WS (AD/GS-8 or below or equivalent positions) for the servicing organizational units. Processes applications for local recruitment substitute teacher and AD/GS-08 or equivalent lower graded positions. Maintains advertisement files. Issues vacancy announcements. Retrieves list from manual or automated applicant system for each occupation and specialization. Issues referral list to managers. Notifies selectee and non-selectees. Works closely with HQ DoDEA HR and/or DLA to assure correctness of information entered into Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS). Reviews Notifications of Personnel Actions to assure documents contain no errors. In-processes new employees, including conducting new employee orientation. May assist in coordinating and administering local job fairs. Counsels employees on Federal life and health insurance programs, retirement, Thrift Savings Plan, and benefits. Provides advice and assistance regarding the basic procedural requirements for position classification, including when and how to request position reviews and the use of standardized position description, where to refer pay inquiries, etc. May assist employee and labor relations in administrative capacity.

For the GS-07 level: 1 year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level, is required. Education is not substitutable or creditable at this grade level.
Typing Proficiency Requirements: In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, applicants must include a certificate of proficiency or self-certify that they can type at least 40 words per minute. Your resume must support your self-certification of your typing ability. Otherwise you may not meet the minimum qualifications requirements for this position.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Such work as experience in researching federal personnel policies, procedures and regulations; experience with the federal staffing procedures; knowledge of allowances and benefits applicable to federal employees, for example, will be considered qualifying.
Education is not substitutable for experience.
Must meet OPM minimum qualification standards to be considered for this position.
