JOB SUMMARY:

The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) was initially established to investigate the broad aspects of human development as a means of understanding developmental disabilities, including intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), Office is currently seeking an Administrative Technician to provide administrative assistance in the office to which assigned to ensure efficient operations in the office.  Functions include reception, procurement, human resources, office automation, training, timekeeping, travel and various other general office management tasks. If you would like to play a significant role in a dynamic organization, then consider applying to this position!

As an Administrative Technician (OA) your duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform a variety of essential management services, such as financial management, personnel management, procurement, property management, travel and transportation management.
  • Review correspondence to ensure adherence to applicable policies, procedures, and formats.
  • Assist NICHD staff with performing routine program analyses of the office's financial cost of operating.
  • Serve as primary assistant to the supervisor in coordinating issues related to the staff, facilities and office resources.
  • Provide a variety of office support functions such as receiving visitors, preparing and editing memoranda and reports, and arranging meetings and conferences.

In order to qualify:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal Service.  Examples of qualifying experience include: coordinating travel activities and maintaining reports on travel activities for the organization; coordinating the logistics for special events; gathering, monitoring and accessing data for use in budget allocations; reviewing expenditures of funds; identifying and developing methods to track budget expenditures or other related data; and providing guidance and advice in various administrative areas.
Selective Factor: You must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
