The Bureau of the Fiscal Service promotes the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the federal government through exceptional accounting, financing, collections, payments, and shared services. 

The Bureau of Fiscal Services is looking for a few individuals to assist with high volume work during the 2013 tax season.  These positions are expected to be filled toward the end of January and last at least through May 2013.  These positions may be extended beyond May 2013 but will not be made permanent.  The positions are located in the Assistant Commissioner Payment Management, Philadelphia Regional Financial Center, Payment and Mail Operations Branch, in Philadelphia, PA, where the incumbent performs manual tasks that require very heavy physical effort and successive steps or processes.

This Treasury position is currently located in either the Bureau of the Public Debt or Financial Management Service.  Upon completion of the planned consolidation of these two bureaus, the position will be located in the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, still within the Department of the Treasury.

      As a Laborer, you will:

    • Stack, sort, or arrange supplies and materials;
    • Open and unpack cardboard cartons and remove contents;
    • Lift and carry light- to medium-weight packages, materials, etc.;
    • Frequently lift and carry objects weighing over 50 pounds; and
    • Load, unload, and move heavy boxes, bulky supplies and materials to and from trucks, loading platforms, etc.

Category Rating will be used to rank and select eligible candidates. If qualified, you will be assigned to one of three categories, Gold, Silver, or Bronze, depending on your experience and education related to this position. Preference-eligibles will be listed at the top of their assigned category and considered before non-preference-eligibles in that category. Qualified preference-eligibles with a compensable service-connected disability of 10% or more will be listed at the top of the highest category.
