At the GS-5 – A Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering is required.
At the GS-7 level: A Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with Superior Academic Achievement. If you are qualifying based on experience, you must have served at least one year working in a job that required specialized experience. This experience must be equivalent to at least the GS-5 level. Specialized experience includes: Experience performing engineering work at the trainee level, such as making calculations using standard formulas; preparing graphs, curves, and tables for other engineers; recording factual data in tests and observations studies; performing drafting and minor detail design; and/or searching technical reports to obtain information.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position may require overnight travel of 1-3 days per month.
If selection is made at a lower grade, promotion up to the full performance level may be made without further competition. However, promotion(s) will depend on the performance of the incumbent and are not guaranteed.
If selected, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
If selected for this position, your appointment is contingent upon completion of OF-306, Declaration for Federal Employment, during the pre-employment process.
If selected, you will be required to complete a questionnaire and are subject to a criminal background check to determine suitability for Federal employment before appointment.

Selectee at the GS-5 or GS-7 level will be placed into a developmental program and placed on a Rotation Plan that is structured to provide new entry-level employees with training experience that will provide a broader view of organizations and functions at Western.

If you meet the minimum qualification standards for the position you will be further evaluated based on your self-assessment and/or panel rating. If qualified, your rating will be based on an evaluation of the quality and extent of your experience, education, and training, in relation to the job requirements. If the information in your application package does not support your self-assessment ratings, your score may be adjusted, or you may be rated ineligible.
