You must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
For the CU/GS-13:
One year of experience comparable to the CU/GS-12 level where the
applicant has experience leading an exam team in a large complex financial institution; supervising problem financial institutions; managing a group of financial institutions; serving as a subject matter expert in examination, supervision and operation of financial institutions; and experience in assessing and providing guidance in the area of risk in financial institutions.
For the CU/GS-14: One year of experience comparable to the CU/GS-13 level where the applicant has experience managing several troubled financial institutions; participating on liquidation & conservator actions; providing quality control reviews on exam reports; participating on creating policy and financial analysis; and managing large data collection efforts. This experience must include analysis of statistical, financial, and economic trends of or affecting financial institutions.

1. Ability to conduct financial and statistical analysis, evaluate financial markets, and apply risk management techniques related to financial institutions.
2. Ability to communicate in writing to develop presentations, reports, etc.
3. Ability to communicate other than in writing in order to provide guidance in the area of risk in financial institutions.
4. Knowledge in the areas of examination, supervision, and operation of financial institutions, including laws, regulations, policies, and directives.
