Minimum Qualification Requirements:
A. Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
B. Combination of education and experience with courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
For the GS-11 level:
In addition to the basic requirement, you must (1) demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following types of tasks: assisting in developing, planning, and implementing biomedical research; collecting, studying, developing, assembling, and analyzing research data; developing and preparing portions of reports, analytical interpretations, conclusions, or recommendations, typically for publication; using a variety of laboratory instruments to perform analyses; and modifying existing protocols and procedures to use in conducting studies;
Completed 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D degree or Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree;
Have a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
For the GS-12 level:
In addition to the basic requirement, you must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following types of tasks: independently conducting experiments using specialized laboratory equipment and processes; developing, planning, and implementing biomedical research; calibrating and operating various laboratory instruments; performing analyses and developing new protocols and procedures for use in studies; and analyzing and interpreting scientific data and preparing detailed summaries of laboratory findings, typically for publication.
