Specialized experience: To Qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GS-09 ). Specialized experience is defined as: applying protocol policy and procedures; preparation of agendas for award ceremonies, VIP site visits, or retirement/change of command ceremonies; advising on proper entertainment and reception details, and other itinerary items such as schedules, seating charts, menus. Coordinating event/visit schedule and details with representatives executive level personnel, or Flag officer, or state/local/Federal politicians.
At the GS-11 level you may substitute education for experience with a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher education leading to such a degree in a subject area. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts)
Combinations of successfully completed education and specialized experience described above may be used to meet total qualification requirements at the GS-11 level .
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
· Ability to organize award or recognition ceremonies
· Ability to organize interagency conferences
· Ability to organize VIP site visits
· Ability to manage protocol program
· Knowledge of international customs, courtesies, etiquitte
· Knowledge of military protocol

This position is obligated. Obligated positions are those where the previous occupant has taken a temporary assignment to a different position and has return rights to this position. Exercise of these return rights will result in displacement from this position and may result in separation. Acceptance of this position does not confer any rights to placement if displaced from this position.

Travel will be required approximately 5% of the time.
Permanent Change of Station costs associated with any move is not authorized.
