Do you have experience with large-scale training registration? Have you coordinated the logistics for conference centers? Do you have an interest in the legal training of attorneys, legal staff, and government officials? If you answered yes, the Office of the Legal Education (OLE) is looking for a candidate with your skills.

 

The ideal candidate has experience supporting the daily operations and preparations for major training programs, conferences, and seminars. In addition, the ideal candidate is highly motivated, organized and able to effectively communicate with both teams and executive management and stakeholders. The ability to work in dynamic, spontaneous, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and strict deadlines is critical. The position is located in the Office of Legal Education, Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys (EOUSA). The Office of Legal Education is responsible for the training of attorneys in the Executive Branch of the Federal Government. Students include attorneys and legal staff of the Department of Justice (DOJ) as well as other federal, state, local and tribal governments and foreign governments.

As a Program Training Assistant you will be responsible for providing support to training teams consisting of an Assistant Director and Program Manager for a legal education function area. The duties and responsibilities associated with this position are of a developmental nature. Therefore, the list of major duties and responsibilities are intended only to give applicants a general overview of the position. Assignments will combine performance of work with supervised on-the-job training. Tasks will increase in complexity as your knowledge, skills, and abilities develop and you gain familiarity with agency programs and activities. Some of your major duties and responsibilities will consist of:

· Preparing and drafting a variety of working documents

· Monitoring deadlines and informing management of any potential discrepancies.

· Notifying students of course acceptance, changes and registration issues.

· Coordinating the arrangements for training rooms, materials, supplies, equipment, and audiovisual needs.

To qualify at the GS-08 level, applicants must possess and demonstrate in their resumes that they have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal Service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing general administrative assistance and support by gathering student feedback for reports and summaries; organizing training materials; assisting with the planning and coordination of training programs; and responding to routine inquiries regarding training.

To qualify at the GS-09 level, applicants must possess and demonstrate in their resumes that they have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal Service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing technical assistance and support for training programs; developing reports and summaries of students' feedback for management to improve training services; monitoring registration deadlines and notifying management of potential conflicts; and resolving scheduling conflicts for faculty and students.


 

- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

Your application will be evaluated and rated under DOJ's Category Rating and Selection Procedures.
