Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet the following qualification requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
GS-09: Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07) level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties of a Paralegal Specialist to include assisting in the drafting of legal documents; assisting in the process of assembling case files and/or organizing evidence/exhibits for court cases; reviewing outgoing correspondence for grammar, proper formatting, correct attachments, etc.; experience with and/or possess a working knowledge of financial disclosure statements; and maintaining a reference library of substantive motions, briefs, instructions and/or other trial-related documents.
Education may be substituted for experience at the GS-09 level: Completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR obtained an LL.B. or J.D OR has a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
