As a Vending Supply Clerk the incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Canteen Chief or designated official. Primary duties involve assortment of management, stockroom operations, cash handling and inventory accountabilities using the Vendmax Hand Held System, and the upkeep and maintenance of assigned vending machines. The incumbent complies with all provisions dictated in VCS operating procedures as well as the Vending Security and Cash Handling COPP. Other duties will include conducting daily inspections of assigned machines to ensure they are clean, stocked and operable. The incumbent will also be responsible for the installation and maintenance of the product assortment and marketing programs as directed by VCSCO.  Performs other related duties as assigned.  

 

**RELOCATION EXPENSES ARE NOT AUTHORIZED**

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCEExperience stocking and maintaining all vending equipment with little or no assistance,  Requires constant standing, walking, and frequent bending. Must be able to accurately handle cash deposits and keep accountability on tracking documents.  Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds with assistance. Also heavy lifting and pushing is required as well as driving being exposed to a multitude of weather conditions. 

SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT:  Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire.  Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. 

JOB ELEMENTS:  Those who meet the minimum level of experience and training for the screen-out element will then be evaluated in each of the following job elements:

 

-  Ability to do the work of a Supply Clerk without more than normal supervision.

-  Knowledge of work practices, cleanliness, neatness, and sanitation.

-  Service a variety of vending machines filled with cold drinks, snacks, and food products ensuring that selling prices are set correctly and machine is operational.

-  Conduct machine and stock room inventories using the Vendmax Hand Held while maintaining ample supply of "on-hand" vending products at all times.

-  Experience with the procedures that govern cash handling, accountability, and controls. Knowledge of reporting losses, theft and shortages.

-  Ability to interpret instructions, reference materials, and written guidelines related to the duties of the -Vending Supply Clerk position.
