Applicants must have one or more years of progressively related experience. Creditable specialized experience includes:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-09: Experience in research, assisting with internal and external websites, campaigns, using a variety of communication media, methods and techniques and providing information to both internal/external audiences for public affairs projects.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-11: Experience in public affairs matters and strategies, to include research, internal communications, media and community relations, provides information on command programs, projects and public affairs campaigns to both internal/external audiences through social media and websites.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS FOR GS-09: Two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's equivalent graduate degree or LL.B or J.D., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the one-year, full-time study requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended.
