This position is located at the Defense Center of Excellence (DCoE) for Physiological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Clinical Standards of Care (CSOC) Directorate at TRICARE Management Activity (TMA). As a Supervisory Physician, you will establish program direction and lead a team of clinical and technical personnel to revise or develop state of science clinical standards to maximize recovery and functioning and to provide guidance and support in the implementation of clinical tools for the benefit of those who sustain TBI.

As a Supervisory Physician, your duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving as a key advisor on all matters relating to clinical activities and assisting in determining the need for new clinical initiatives

 

  • Coordinating with the other Services and with the Veterans Affairs for improvements in the delivery of care for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) patients by participating in program evaluations throughout the military health system

 

  • Setting long-range plans, goals and objectives that integrate higher headquarters policies and organizational needs related to advancing TBI programs, initiatives and practices

 

  • Facilitating collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs, federal and non-federal agencies, academia and other TBI stakeholders in establishment, refinement, monitoring and renewing of comprehensive and universal TBI clinical standards of care as coordinated through the Defense Center of Excellence (DCoE)

 

  • Providing the full range of supervisory responsibilities for senior government, military and contractor employees

The Office of Personnel Management has identified the following minimum educational requirements for this position:

 

Degree: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicant's graduation. [A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country).]

 

AND

 

Licensure:  Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. 

 

AND

 

Experience:  3 years of graduate training or equivalent experience and training and 1 year of appropriate experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-14) developing clinical standards and tools related to Traumatic Brain Injury.

REQUIREMENTS:

Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.
