Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet the following qualification requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
GS-05: Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-04) in the Federal service demonstrating knowledge of maintaining and updating medical records. Qualifying experience may include duties such as: checking medical records for completeness, accuracy and/or compliance with regulatory requirements; searching and/or abstracting medical data; identifying medical forms required for recordkeeping purposes; and/or assisting with the disposition of records to include identifying, assembling, sorting, and/or packaging records for transfers to other medical centers.
Education may be substituted for experience at the GS-05 level: Completion of four years above the high school education.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
