JOB SUMMARY:

The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) is the nation's fully accredited federal school of medicine and graduate school of nursing.  Its education, research and consultation programs are unique, related directly to military medicine, tropical diseases, disasters medicine, military medical readiness and adaptation to extreme environments.  We prepare outstanding scientists and health care practitioners for careers in service to the nation.

This position is located at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Office of the Deputy Vice President, Chief Information Officer, Center for Multidisciplinary Educational Support Services. You will be responsible for working with professional faculty and technical staffs to schedule, train for, and produce a variety of lectures, courses, seminars, conferences and laboratory exercises.

DUTIES:

·         Maintaining electronic teaching and conferencing equipment and training others in its proper use

·         Managing all aspects of computer equipment and peripherals utilized in teaching and delivery of computer-aided instruction, including installation, configuration, networking, software maintenance and troubleshooting various systems within labs, conference rooms and/or lecture halls

·         Responsible for reporting, recording, tracking, prioritizing and resolving technical issues

·         Staging, monitoring, and de-staging audio visual equipment for lectures, demonstrations, conferences and laboratory exercises

·         Preparing laboratory kits, mixing reagents and dispensing supplies and equipment for assigned exercises

·         Performing basic desktop maintenance and support for Windows and/or Apple-Macintosh platforms, software installation, troubleshooting, configuration, telecommunications interfaces and standard peripherals

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:  performing administrative duties; using office automation software; operating audio visual equipment; and experience assisting in the setup of laboratory or classroom exercises.

REQUIREMENTS:

The work requires the ability to move rapidly from place to place over the entire complex of university buildings.  There are prolonged periods of standing, and bending, stooping, and carrying objects of moderate weight (100 lbs).  In addition, you must be able to move carts with loads up to 500 pounds; and, assist in the movement of cadavers.
