What are the Major Duties of this Position?
Incumbent organizes and participates in conferences, workshops, and meetings concerning the affirmative action program. Prepares travel itineraries fo the bureau's executive staff. Makes daily contacts with the conference participants throughout the continental United States to include Puerto Rico and Hawaii regarding conference workshops and program agendas. Ensures that all equipment and supplies are shipped in a timely manner to all conferences sites.
Performs administrative liaison and clerical duties, such as: preparing responses to correspondence for final review and signature of Administrator, making travel arrangements and preparing travel vouchers, receiving and distributing incoming correspondence, maintaining time and attendance records for office staff, and receiving incoming calls and visitors and referring them to the appropriate staff when necessary.
Provides advice and assistance to managers and field personnel at all levels concerning development and implementation of the affirmative action program, plans, and recruitment initiatives.

How Do I Qualify for this Position?
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements:
Experience You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in federal service. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.
Some examples of this qualifying experience are:
- Organizing and participating in conferences, workshops, and meetings.
- Being responsible for all logistical concerns in the implementation of daily operation of an office, such as: equipment acquisition, space utilization, establishment and implementation of office procedures, clerical and filing systems.
- Performing administrative liaison and clerical duties, such as: preparing responses to correspondence for final review and signature of Administrator.
- Making travel arrangements and preparing travel vouchers, receiving and distributing incoming correspondence, maintaining time and attendance records for office staff, and receiving incoming calls and visitors and referring them to the appropriate staff when necessary.
Credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT:
