As an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to seriously ill and injured veterans. Duties include providing optimal quality critical care for all patients during all phases of their intensive care experience. The ICU RN must manage patient instability and/or complications related to the invasive nature of critical care intervention. In addition the RN must monitor, assess, and develop care plans for critically ill patients. Our facility is seeking individuals who possess good organizational skills which enable completion of work and the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team.

Citizenship : Citizen of the United States

 

Licensure/Registration : Current, full, active and unrestricted license/registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia required.

 

Certification: BLS and ACLS Certification required 

Experience:  One year working as an RN in a critical care unit within the last Five years.


Education : Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State agency, and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant.

The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), an accrediting arm of the National League for Nursing or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), an accrediting  arm of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). All education claimed by applicants will be verified by the appointing agency accordingly. FOREIGN EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:  To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specialized in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.

To Qualify for this position:

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen
  • You must submit to a drug test and receive a negative drug test before you can be appointed into this position
  • You must have a certification, licensure, or registration credentials in Registered Nursing
  • You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed into this position
  • You must pass a pre-employment medical examination
