This position involves piloting aircraft used in research, development, and test programs; evaluating test parameters; performing flight and/or ground simulations of advanced missions and aircraft; and actively participating with project engineers and scientists responsible for the development, design, testing, evaluation, and reporting on aircraft modification or new aircraft system and on-board scientific instruments; and actively participaing with project scientists to design and execute flight profiles to obtain desired data. Typical missions involve using modified aircraft to gather scientific or engineering data in a variety of environments.
