This position is located in the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum (CHNDM). The IT role is to help the Museum achieve the most effective, customer focused, mission aligned use of IT infrastructure and resources.

Experience: One year of full-time experience at the GS-11 level that is close or similar to the work of this job. The experience includes activities such as
managing of a Local Area Network and all devices connected to it, including copiers, environmental monitoring systems and IP telephony; maintaining high volume public wifi, establishing and administering new ticketing and retail systems, and providing customer service support for desk top computers.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
Your resume will be used to evaluate your experience, education, and/or training that address the competencies below:
- Knowledge of a Local Area Network (LAN), email application and all supporting hardware and software needs.
- Knowledge of desktop support and hardware in order to respond to staff IT needs through an automated helps desk software.
- Ability to plan, schedule and develop the annual budget that supports the Information Technology for the Museum.
- Ability to establish effective working relationship with off-site Information Technology counterparts to stay updated and informed on all IT matters affecting the museum.

Better Category - Meets the minimum qualification requirements and satisfies most of the job related competencies above. Good Category - Meets the minimum qualification requirements, but does not satisfy most of the job related competencies above to a substantive degree.
