As a Program Support Assistant, you will use your administrative expertise to:

·         Compose reports and correspondence addressed and/or distributed to higher level officials both within and outside the government.

·         Develop narrative information and statistical data for use in the management of contracts.

·         Serve as the primary contact for contract modifications which includes reviewing, preparing, and tracking all requests for contract action, funding modifications or modifications regarding equipment assigned to contractors.

·         Assemble basic data for use in the formulation and execution of budget requests, budget amendments, deferral actions, and proposed rescissions and will also assist in all other phases of the contract negotiation and renegotiation process.

·         Review and analyze progress and expenditure reports of active contracts and, where required, researches discrepancies and resolves problems.

To qualify for this position at the GS-08 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks:  providing guidance and advice in various administrative areas; monitoring tasks: providing guidance and advice in various administrative areas; monitoring the expenditures of funds to ensure adherence to resource allocations; maintaining various tracking systems and control files; and preparing correspondence, reports and memoranda for signature.

 

AND

 

You must be able to demonstrate in your resume that you are able to type at least 40 or more words per minute.
