OHIO ARMY NATIONAL GUARD

 

THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO CURRENT ON-BOARD TECHNICIANS WITHIN

THE OHIO ARMY NATIONAL GUARD

 

Membership in the Ohio National Guard Is Required:  This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in the Ohio National Guard as a condition of employment.  The Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.  Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements.

 

 ***Selectee will be assigned to a compatible military position in an appropriate unit of assignment in the Ohio Army National Guard. 

 ***Applicant must currently possess or be eligible to obtain an MOS that is compatible with this position.

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

This position is located in the US Property and Fiscal Office (USP&FO), Comptroller Division, Accounting Services Branch with the Ohio National Guard. The purpose of this position is to provide analysis, validation, processing and correction of financial transactions and issues/ discrepancies involving the full range of accounting services.  Incumbent uses complete understanding of inter-related systems across multiple functional areas and their interoperability to ensure the validity and accuracy of all obligations, disbursements, collections/ deposits, and adjustments related to financial records.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

Experience, education, or training involving arithmetic principles, attention to detail, and application of established procedures for recording and compiling data.  Experience using computer and automation systems.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE/ KSA's:

(GS-08) - 18 months experience in which the applicant demonstrates:

1.  Experience, education, or training of total accounting procedures. 

2.  Experience planning, organizing and coordinating work in order to resolve problems that occur.

3.  Experience in account maintenance, clerical, and accounting technician support positions requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures in performing or supervising the examination, verification, and maintenance of accounts and accounting data.

Compatible Military Grades:

E-1 (PV1) - E-8 (MSG)


SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:

NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position.  A copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application. Education must be directly related to the field of work. Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week for 6 months of experience).   Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience.
