This position is to provide a learning opportunity for a student enrolled in a field of study to enhance their future goals and improve their knowledge with work experience in a working environment. This also provides the Service with administrative support in the area of clerical and typing. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
· Performing general office support work such as preparing, receiving, reviewing, and verifying documents.
· Maintaining office records.
· Locating and compiling data or information from files.
· Compiling information for reports.
· Keeping a calendar and informing others of deadlines and other important dates.

The Internship Program provides managers a ready source of student employees and potential permanent employees upon completion of the program requirements. It also provides the student with work experience directly related to their curriculum studies and career goals while offering eligibility for non-competitive conversion to permanent employment upon completion. To be eligible for conversion, the student employee must be capable of working at least 640 hours prior to completion of their degree requirements.
Full requirements for Conversion:
·Complete at least 640 hours of work experience acquired through the Internship Program.
·Complete their degree or certificate requirements.
·Meet the qualification standards for the position to which the Intern will be converted.
·Meet agency-specific requirements as specified in the Participant's Agreement.
·Satisfactory performance of the position.
Note: Conversion into a permanent position is not a guarantee or mandatory after meeting program requirements.
