This position is located in the Identity Credential Management (ICAM) Branch, Field Operations Division, Office of the Chief Security Officer (OCSO), Mission Support Bureau (MSB), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). In this position you will analyze, design and implement expertise to a wide range of information systems applications operating on, or envisioned for, networks and equipment utilized by FEMA program offices. This position starts at a salary of $94,976 (IC-13).

EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
This position is being announced under FEMA's Cadre of On-call Response/Recovery Employee (CORE) Program. This is a temporary appointment in the Excepted Service, not to exceed 2 years, with the option to extend based on workload and funding availability. Veterans Preference does not apply to the CORE selection process.

In this position, you will utilize in-depth knowledge of network operating systems and networking protocols in support of Agency disaster operations nationwide. Typical assignments include:
You qualify for this position at the IC-13 level (starting salary $94,976) if you possess the following:
One full year of specialized experience at the IC-12 level or equivalent that demonstrates 1) applying principles, methods, or tools (for example surveys, system performance measures) to assess the effectiveness and practicality of information technology systems, 2) providing expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical information technology project management issues, and 3) applying new developments to previously unsolvable project information technology project management issues.
