This position is part of the Defense Technology Services Agency. As a Interdisciplinary (Engineer/Physical Scientist), this position is located in:
Technology Directorate (TD) and the incumbent performs professional engineering or scientific work reviewing and developing coordinated Department of Defense (DoD) recommendations on international transfers of defense-related goods, services and technologies to ensure they are consistent with U.S. National Security interest.
The Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) is the principal staff element of the Secretary of Defense in the exercise of policy development, planning, resource management, fiscal, and program evaluation responsibilities. OSD includes the immediate offices of the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Defense, Under Secretaries of Defense, Director of Defense Research and Engineering, Assistant Secretaries of Defense, General Counsel, Director of Operational Test and Evaluation, Assistants to the Secretary of Defense, Director of Administration and Management, and such other staff offices as the Secretary establishes to assist in carrying out assigned responsibilities.
The Strategic Capabilities Office conducts analysis in support of ongoing efforts to shape and counter emerging threats with special emphasis on innovative and architecture level concepts, cross service and cross Defense/Intelligence concepts, red teaming, and research and development projects.

As a Interdisciplinary (Engineer/Physical Scientist), GS-0861/1301/0801/0855-15, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:
•Provides engineering and scientific analysis/recommendations regarding the international technology transfer process.
•Develops technology security policy recommendations for DoD and inter-agencies.
•Reviews and evaluates technical reports regarding leading edge technologies.
•Prepares and presents DoD technology security policies on sensitive technology transfer applications.
•Analyzes and responds to technical arguments raised by industry or other executive agencies in the international technology transfer process.
