The Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed. The incumbent of this position will be part of the Pathways Program as a Student Intern for a temporary duration of time.
The incumbent serves as an intern in one of the six APHIS-MRPBS divisions: Emergency Management, Safety and Security; Human Resources; Administrative Services; Investigation and Enforcement; Financial Management; and Information Technology. The intern will work on standard project assignments and perform a variety of duties of one or more of the following areas (personnel, fiscal, administrative services, program records and reports, data processing, etc.). The positions will be located in one of the following locations: Fort Collins, CO and Raleigh, NC.
Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a permanent job in the civil service.
Housing and travel expenses will not be paid.
APHIS is an emergency response agency. This means that all Agency employees may be asked or assigned to participate in rotating temporary duty assignments to support emergency programs at some time during their careers with APHIS. For details click: APHIS Emergency Response

GS-4: Completion of 2 full academic years (60 semester or 90 quarter hours) of post-high school study or an associate's degree.
