In this position you will function as a senior Logistics Management Specialist with responsibility for performing work that involves planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logistical actions required to support a specified mission or other designated program. Typical assignments include:
You qualify for this position at the GS-12 level (starting salary $82,304) if you possess the following:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level that demonstrates the following: 1) planning logistics support of programs, systems, equipment and components for an emergency operations center to support governmental agencies, voluntary agencies or the private sector; 2) applying knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and precedents affecting logistics and 3) supporting States, Locals and Tribal stakeholders plan, coordinate and respond to Presidentially declared disasters.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and provides valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
