The Department of Energy's Office of Science is seeking an undergraduate student majoring in Statistics or Math, to volunteer at the Integrated Support Center (ISC) in Argonne, IL for up to 10 weeks, this summer. A student volunteer in this role will support the EEO/Diversity Office of the ISC. The ISC provides legal support for patentable inventions from the Office of Science’s national laboratories. Employees draft and prosecute patent applications and manage the government patent portfolio.
The Office of Science (SC) Integrated Support Center (ISC), Chicago Office, provides essential administrative, business, and technical support to the ten Office of Science national laboratories and site offices located throughout the country. Through the ISC’s services and customer support, national laboratories and site offices can continue operations efficiently and advance the fields of science, engineering, and technology for our nation.

The volunteer will be tasked to create and maintain spreadsheets and to organize data using pivot tables and v-lookup; extract, manipulate and analyze data from databases; and, compile information from a variety of sources. These duties will requires proficiency and skill utilizing MS Excel sufficient to import and organize data into logical tables for analyses, table joins and use of various functions, formulas and algebraic equations.
