The incumbent serves as a Pharmacy Technician in the Pharmacy Service Department located on the campus of the VA Long Beach Healthcare System, Long Beach, California. Acts as a pharmacy technician, under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, in a large multi-facility health care system, including inpatient, long-term care, teaching and research activities, and with outpatient clinic activities provided at five outpatient locations.
The primary function of the Pharmacy Technician will be to provide innovative and progressive pharmaceutical care to Veterans. It is critical that the incumbent display a caring and helpful attitude and provide exceptional customer service. The position function will include ensuring appropriate, safe and accurate medications are dispensed to Veterans in an efficient manner. The Pharmacy Technician will serve primary in outpatient pharmacy areas and provide a range of medication management and administrative services to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the professional staff by performing the following scope of assigned duties:
Work Schedule: Full time, Variable Shifts including weekends and holidays.
