Type of Appointment: This is a fulltime, Excepted Permanent dual status position, which requires Georgia Air National Guard membership.
Job Summary: This position works within an Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Maintenance Group, Aircraft Maintenance Squadron or Maintenance Squadron, Avionics Element, Avionics Shop or Communications/Navigation/ECM, Guidance and Control, ECM Pod/Test Station shop that supports aircraft. The primary purpose of this position is to supervise employees who install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. The supervisor in this career field must also possess the ability to perform on-or-off equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems.

Background Check: Selectee may, at the option of the agency, be required to submit to criminal, credit history, and general background checks which will be evaluated by the agency prior to a final offer of employment and access into the Georgia National Guard Federal Technician or Active Guard/Reserve program.
National Guard Membership: This position requires military membership. It is designated for Georgia Air National Guard Enlisted incumbent only. In accordance with ANG regulations, incumbent performs duties necessary to accomplish Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Supervisor functions in support of programs essential to state Air National Guard daily operations, training and readiness missions.
As a member of a unit of the Georgia Air National Guard, you will be required to train with your unit, normally one weekend a month and 15 days of annual training each year. Georgia Air National Guard units and members are subject to immediate call to federal or state active duty to meet national or state emergencies.

Other Requirements: For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, selectee must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

General Experience: Applicant must have experience which provided which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.
Specialized Experience: Applicant must have at least 36 months specialized experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the Selecting Official based on the following KSAs considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
