Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
GS-05: Select the one statement that best describes the experience that you possess that demonstrates your ability to perform Administrative Support Assistant work at the GS-05 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service: I have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal Service performing all of the following: 1) Distribute and control mail, refer phone calls and visitors and provide general non-technical information, 2) Perform a full range of clerical assignments and resolve a variety of non-recurring problems.
OR
I have successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level
in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal
prerequisite in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior
college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined
as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or
university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for
approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
GS-06: Select the one statement that best describes the experience that you possess that demonstrates your ability to perform Administrative Support Assistant work at the GS-06 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service: I have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal Service performing financial, clerical, and technical support for a civilian and military workforce managing supply operations. Examples of specialized experience may include some or all of the following: 1) Make travel arrangements within the Defense Travel System (DTS), 2) Locate and select the most appropriate guidelines according to circumstances of the specific case or transaction.
