ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The NGA Support Team (NST) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio is seeking an Advanced Visualization Specialist to join a government team supporting geospatial intelligence production. The NST provides GEOINT data, services, and products to the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) and United States Air Force partners in support of the creation of integrated, predictive intelligence for the air, space, and cyber domains. The incumbent will be responsible for producing accurate and visually appealing interactive products by using data extraction, image analysis, 3-D illustration, and animation using advanced computer software packages. Must be able to apply theories and principles of graphic design, 3-D Computer Aided Design, animation, statistics, cartography, geography, color theory, layout, typography, as well as creative thinking to implement design ideas and produce meaningful visualizations that communicate effectively. Excellent customer service skills in working with analysts/customers to conceptualize visuals that clearly and efficiently communicate intelligence findings is required. Must be able to work both independently and with other tradecraft specialty personnel at NGA and across the Intelligence Community under tight deadlines while quickly responding to changing customer requirements.
This is not a permanent duty location. The incumbent may be required to relocate to another NGA site after approximately 5 years based on the needs of the agency. The majority of NGA positions are located at the NGA Campus East in Springfield, Virginia or at the NGA Campus West in St. Louis, Missouri; however, positions may also be available at other locations.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. In addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information. All employees are subject to a periodic examination on a random basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Refusal to take the examination may result in denial of access to Top Secret information, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs.
Employees with SCI access and who are under NGA cognizance are required to submit a Security Financial Disclosure Report, SF-714, on an annual basis in order to determine continued eligibility. NGA utilizes all processes and procedures of the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Non-executive NGA employees are assigned to five distinct pay bands based on the type and scope of work performed. The employee's base salary is established within their assigned pay band based on their unique qualifications. A performance pay process is conducted each year to determine a potential base pay salary increase and/or bonus. An employee's annual performance evaluation is a key factor in the performance pay process. Promotions may be conducted during the annual pay for performance process or throughout the year via the Assignment Opportunity Notices (AON). This position is a DCIPS position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601. MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education in any area listed in option A and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of college work is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals to 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in animation, imagery science, gaming, visual communication, or a closely related field.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired:
1) Experience producing geospatially-correct 3D scenes and terrain databases.
2) Proficient in Autodesk Maya and/or 3ds Max.
3) Experience using Lightwave.
4) Advanced image processing skills.
5) User experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design skills.
6) Demonstrated graphic arts and design skills.
7) Background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
8) Strong interpersonal skills, as you will interface directly with customers and audiences at all levels.
9) Digital Product Dissemination.
10) Technical/Military terminology (nomenclature).
11) Database Management.
