Analyze the scientific, compliance and regulatory needs and activities of the Center and draft and/or develop regulatory and policy proposals, and position papers.Conduct program analysis.Coordinate and manage special projects, and advise others concerning FDA statutes and regulations impacting CTP programs.Direct the preparation, clearance and finalization of Center responses to inquiries covering all aspects of the compliance program segment(s), functions, and activities of the Center.Direct through subordinate supervisors, plans, organizes, and directs departmental/agency wide programs and operations support the regulatory enforcement and compliance activities that impact tobacco products.Provide supervision, guidance and direction for Division staff.

In order to qualify for the Supervisory Consumer Safety Officer, GS-0696-15 you must meet the following:
BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Degree: that included at least 30 semester hours in one or a combination of the following: biological sciences, chemistry, pharmacy, physical sciences, food technology, nutrition, medical science, engineering, epidemiology, veterinary medical science, or related scientific fields that provided knowledge directly related to consumer safety officer work. The 30 semester hours can include up to 8 semester hours in statistics, or course work that included the principles, theory, or practical application of computers or computer programming.
OR
Combination of education and experience -- courses consisting of at least 30 semester hours in the fields of study described in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
AND
Have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service, assigning, directing, overseeing and coordinating work of subordinates and serving as an expert in establishing compliance and enforcement policy related to the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
Documenting experience: In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description. Experience that would not normally be part of the employee's position is creditable, however, when documented by satisfactory evidence, such as a signed memorandum from the employee's supervisor or an SF-50 or SF-52 documenting an official detail or other official assignment.
