This position is located within the Counterintelligence (CI) Operations Division, CI Directorate, Defense Security Service (DSS), Department of Defense (DoD).
As an Intelligence Operations Specialist (Counterintelligence Special Agent) you will be responsible for the following duties:
Employees Serviced by DLA: Civilian Federal employees who receive human resources servicing through the Defense Logistics Agency DO NOT need to submit supporting documentation if applying through merit promotion. Your record in Electronic Official Personnel Folder (e-OPF) will be used to verify your eligibility. It is your responsibility to ensure the required documents are in your e-OPF for verification purposes. If your documents are not in e-OPF, you must submit them to the announcement you are applying for at time of application. Qualifying experience required for this position is:
Knowledge and experience in the field of counterintelligence (CI), investigations, operations, and in-depth research, compilation, and field-level analysis of a wide range of extremely complex and sensitive information to determine Foreign Intelligence Entity threats to US interests. Additionally, knowledge and experience with the National Industrial Security Program and DoD Personnel Security Program process sufficient to correlate counterintelligence issues emerging in a cleared industry.
Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
1. Knowledge of intelligence and counterintelligence (CI) communities; capabilities and jurisdictions.
2. Knowledge of foreign intelligence entities, methods, approaches, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of personnel security investigations and industrial security vulnerability assessments sufficient to identify and correlate CI issues with factors that may affect an individual's or a facility's ability to gain or maintain a security clearance.
4. Ability to gain acceptance of/or agreement with controversial recommendations arising from research activities related to CI issues.
