The Administrative Office (AO), an agency of the Judicial Branch of the Federal government, is committed to serving and supporting the Federal court system of the United States. The AO provides a broad range of legislative, legal, financial, technology, management, administrative and program support services to the Federal courts.
AO positions are classified and paid under a broad-banded system with the exception of positions in the AO Executive Service. Salary is commensurate with experience. Most AO employees are eligible for full Federal and Judiciary benefits.
The incumbent of this position will occupy an entry or intermediate level Contract Specialist position. This opportunity offers tailored instruction, guidance, training, and supervision geared toward developing the selected individual to perform at the full performance level. At the successful conclusion of the developmental period, the full performance salary range increases to $66,510 to $126,517.

This position is located in the Budget, Accounting and Procurement Office, Procurement Management Division (PMD). The PMD manages a comprehensive procurement program for the Federal Judiciary.
The incumbent performs entry or mid level contract specialist work assignments associated with pre-award, post award and contract closeout activities. As competency increases, the incumbent will work under less direct supervision performing more complex work assignments.
At the full-performance level, duties may include, but are not limited to:
1. Serving as a senior contracting officer performing the full range of contract specialist duties necessary to procure, administer, and close out a variety of contract types, including, but not limited to, firm fixed price, labor hour, and task ordering arrangements;
2. Developing procurement plans and objectives, constructing contract vehicles and assisting in the development of statements of work and evaluation plans; and
3. Serving as an advisor to customers at the AO and the courts nationwide on contracting issues.
